Parent Dogs

Hello [Breeder Name],

Thank you for the opportunity to learn more about your upcoming litter. Before I place a deposit, I’d like to ask a few questions about the parent dogs to help me make an informed decision.

• Could you please provide full names, ages, weights, and pedigrees of both the sire and dam?
• Have the parents undergone health testing (hips, elbows, eyes, heart, genetic panels)? If yes, may I see the clearances or certification numbers?
• What are the temperaments of each parent (e.g., energy level, sociability with people, children, other dogs)?
• Could you share photos or videos of both parents in their daily environment (ideally together and individually)?
• How are the parents housed and socialised? For example: size of their run/pasture, indoor/outdoor access, interaction with the family, enrichment.
• How many litters has each parent had previously, and at what age did they have their first litter?
• Is there any known health history (current or past) for either parent that I should be aware of (even if resolved)?
• What coat types and sizes do the parents produce most reliably (given your upcoming litter)?
• Could I meet or view (in-person or via video) the parent dogs prior to choosing a puppy?
• Do the parents live on-site or with you as part of your family/facility? How frequently are they around people/family members?
